Second Hand Goods
Hi One of the casualities of the recent flooding was the Friends of the Pound storage shed at the Murwillumbah Showground. Dawn Holmes who manages the FOP second hand goods and bric a brac sales said that the market shed had 2 metres of water through it and ALL!! of the second hand goods were water affected. They had a major clean up today and some things were saved, but almost everything in the shed went to the tip. If you were thinking of looking through your...Read more...

We were overwhelmed by the response and before Christmas Friends of the Pound volunteer, Noel, had a busy time assembling all the new beds.     It took the strength of two volunteers to lug away each of the old steel and wooden beds....Read more...

The Dog or the Home
Australia has one of the highest rates of pet ownership in the world, but stricter body corporate and real estate by-laws are forcing us to choose between a home or the family pet. Read Ruth Ostrow's Lorem article about the dire predictions of household pets. Landlords continue to discriminate against pet owners. Often it becomes “the dog or the home”. Should bias be illegal? I met a woman recently who’d just moved to Sydney. She’s ...Read more...
