We have had to change the date of the monthly general meeting from Tuesday the 9th to Tuesday the 16th April due to lack of accommodation at the Kingscliff Bowls Club it will be the same venue and same time.

De-Sexing Month
Low cost de-sexing of cats in the Tweed Shire will be available during July for those on low incomes including Centrelink beneficiaries, health care card carriers and those who earn less than $50k p.a.

Cat Adoptathon
Our Cat Adopt-a-thon will be held at 1OO% Pets, as part of Seniors Week on the 23-24 March from 10am – 3pm each day, entry is free! There will be a number of adult cats on display and available for adoption, as well as a sausage sizzle for you to enjoy.

First National Wishing Tree!
The generous staff at First National organised a wishing tree in three of their offices, two in Pottsville and one in Tweed. The local residents from Pottsville and Tweed donated dog and cat food for our foster cats and dogs which we are very grateful for, we had a photo shoot to commemorate the handing over of the food :)

Abbie - a blind puppy sees a bright future
The first time I heard about Abbie was when I received an email from a member of Story Dogs who knew Abbie’s owner. The email said ‘Gentle Cocker Spaniel pup needs a home’. Abbie’s owners had bred a few litters of pups without any problems but two female pups in the latest litter were born with cataracts on both of their eyes. Friends of the Pound is holding an event at our Rehoming booth, 100% Pets Greenway Drive, South Tweed. Some of our dog success stories.
There have been so many of our foster dogs gone to lovely homes. Sometimes we get too busy to write up reports for the web and let people know of the successes that we have. Polly
Dear Polly is DSH ginger desexed female puss, a good-looking but a very independent cat who likes attention but on her terms. She can be very entertaining and agile as she can do forward flips!
