Dogs in Foster Care
The following dogs are not in the Pound but have been placed in temporary homes with Friends of the Pound foster carers. They are all still in need of a loving home.
The following prices are heavily subsidised by Friends of the Pound as we have to pay for desexing, vaccinations, microchipping, vet-checks, and often other medical expenses are incurred. You can view our monthly expenses here. Sometimes the adoption fee only pays a small part of the animal's vet bill. We are a not-for-profit organisation and our vet bills are huge. If you are in a position to donate more we would be most appreciative. All monies received helps us to rescue more animals.

Rufas is a gentle, well mannered and loving dog. He enjoys human company and gets on well with other similar sized dogs. He needs to be an ‘inside dog’ with access to a secure yard. He walks well on a lead and needs at least a 30 minute walk daily.

Shari is a country girl at heart. She is great with chooks and cats. Okay without fences. Good with children. Generally no trouble at all. She loves people. We took Shari when her owners moved from a farm to the city and Shari hated the city noises. She is fine with farm machinery and country noises. She has been in foster care with people who adore her. They say she is the easiest dog to manage. Just fits in to whatever is offered her. They would love to adopt Shari but have plans to move somewhere that would not suit her needs. Shari is fine with other dogs if they are introduced correctly.

Peachy is a sweetie. Surrendered to the Tweed Pound at 10 years old and rescued by Friends of the Pound she is now in the market for a new home. She is a lovely girl, loves her walks and is wanting to bond with a new owner. She is okay with other dogs, but would be better with a male dog. She has lived with cats, but she had probably known them for many years. If you can find a place in your heart and home for this lovely older girl I am sure she will reward you with love and loyalty.
