Raffle Prize Baby Byron sold

Some members may recall that late last year we had a generous donation of 'baby' Byron. We rely on fund raising to make ends meet so we can pay our escalating veterinary bills so this donation from Andama Galleries was much appreciated. We intended to raffle Byron and had this as an agenda item for our monthly meeting last Tuesday. We were discussing the best way to go about getting as much money as we could from this generous gift.
However, on Monday morning something amazing happened. From an email forwarded from the Andama Galleries website we were able to sell Byron for US$3000 to a lovely woman in Salt Lake City. Jann had fallen completely ‘in love’ with Baby Byron. It was her late husband’s name. She had also lost her two dogs just before Christmas and wanted some happiness in her life. She also is dedicated to animal rescue and desexing and felt Friends of the Pound was a worthy cause to support.
So Byron, generously packed correctly (free of charge) by Andama Galleries is winging his way to Salt Lake City to an elated Jann.
Our volunteers work so hard, both at the pound, and finding homes for dogs and cats who need to be rescued. It was so good not to have to use our time and energy to have to organise the raffle. After exchange rates and postage we have been able to bank $2730.
Thanks again Andama – you not only provided a major fundraising source for us but you found us our buyer. What more can we ask.
